Work Trip Scones Recipe
Many of you have asked us to post the recipe for the fabulous scones that John's teams traditionally prepare for breakfast on the Work Trip. We usually make four or five batches of the King Arthur Chocolate Chip Scones recipe, which you will find here: http://bit.ly/18LP3u
For best results and for the most per-kid fun we mix each batch separately (i.e. four or five large bowls with one batch per kid). In 2012 we cooked them the evening before and warmed them (10 mins at 300℉) and they were great!
In addition to miniature chocolate chips (our favorite!), we make batches with some of the following:
- blueberries (every year); dried blueberries preferred
- shredded cheddar cheese (2007, 2008, 2012)
- butterscotch chips (2008, 2012)
- "Craisins" (2008, 2012)
- cinnamon chips (2007)
- currants (2006, 2007)

You can find the online version of the front-page story Youths use break to lend a hand here, and a nice mini photo gallery from the paper here.-
